We offer refurbished Gilson 204 fraction collectors. The 204 compares well with the ISCO Foxy 200. Both of these collectors are somewhat large, with the 204 taking up more space. They are well suited to large collection runs.
The belts in the Gilson 204, in contrast to the ISCO 200 never break but the circuit boards in the Foxy 200 are incredibly reliable and those in the 204 are not. We have found a recurring problem in the circuit boards of the Gilson 204, spanning many, many years of production. Fortunately we have also figured out how to solve this problem and the troublesome electronic components are proactively replaced when purchased with our standard warranty
The Gilson 204 does have a huge advantage over the Foxy 200 and that is the price of the racks. We have found the ISCO racks to be far more expensive and Gilson offers an equally large assortment.
We find the user interface of the 204 reasonably well laid out and they can also be controlled via RS-232. If you require it, we can write custom computer programs to control them.
There are a large number of racks that can be used with this fraction collector. We have several in stock but less then half of what is offered by Gilson.
The Gilson 204 can be controlled through RS-232 or through contact closure. We can offer them with event cables for contact closure control and peak measurement. We also offer the RS-232 cables.
The Gilson 203/204 and 205 models also have an option for a three way valve. This valve allows non-peak to be discarded without the arm having to move, reducing the chances of cross contamination of the sample tubes.
At one point all of our prices were posted online. Since the subprime fiasco of 2007 we have had an increasingly difficult time keeping our online prices up to date with the number of currencies that we normally quote in. Worse yet (for us) the prices of many instruments are in a state of flux. At this time(June 2010) we are in a buyer's market, this is an excellent time to buy used instrumentation, with prices approximately 10-15% lower then in 2007. Unfortunately we have had to switch from an online pricing setup to a quote-on-request one.
If you would like a quote on one of our fraction collectors please let us know;
-What rack(s) you are interested in
