Foxy 200 fraction collector

The Foxy 200 is our best selling fraction collector. They are really quite robust. Unlike the Foxy JR they have a sturdy dispensing arm. The main weakness is in the X axis belt which we often find broken in Foxy 200s liquidated in auctions. The other cause for concern is solvent damage beneath the drip pan. The drip pan does have a drain but if it becomes plugged the solvent can overflow and be pulled under the pan and above the collector's main body(A.K.A chassis). If the solvent remains trapped inside the results can be disastrous. We have had to scrap several Foxy 200s that we purchased due to solvent damage here. Worst yet it is hard to avoid repeating these kinds of purchases as the solvent damage is largely concealed. The damage is however a real cause for concern. We have seen examples were the solvent has "eaten" right through the main body.

This being said, overall the Foxy 200 is a great fraction collector. The Foxy 200 is also very flexible. There are a wide variety of programing options and many racks available. There are also extra valve options. There is a 'safety' valve option that that interrupts the flow while the dispensing arm is moving between tubes. This is handy if your samples are precious or dangerous. Even better is the 'diverter' valve which is a 3 way valve. The Foxy 200 can discard non-peak to a waste funnel but this is less then ideal as there is a possibility of cross contamination and does not work with certain racks such as the microplate rack. The 'diverter' valve allow non peak to be sent to a separate waste line without the arm having to move at all. If you need to collect and immense about of samples you can even chain multiple Foxy 200s together in series and have the 'diverter' switch the flow to another Foxy 200 after the first Foxy 200's racks are full. In addition there are multi-column dispensing heads that allow completely parallel flows to be collected from multiple columns.

As mentioned, the Foxy 200 has many programming options. In fact there are more options then the newer R1 and R2 fraction collectors that are meant to super cede it, specifically the time windows options.

The Foxy 200 can be remotely controlled via RS-232. If you require  it, we can write custom computer programs. We can also modify them if you have a special application.

There are a large number of racks that can be used with this fraction collector. We have many used racks in stock.

The Foxy 200 can be controlled through RS-232 or through contact closure. We can offer them with event cables for contact closure control and peak measurement. We also offer the RS232 cables.

At one point all of our prices were posted online. Since the subprime fiasco of 2007 we have had an increasingly difficult time keeping our online prices up to date with the number of currencies that we normally quote in. Worse yet (for us) the prices of many instruments are in a state of flux. At this time(June 2010) we are in a buyer's market, this is an excellent time to buy used instrumentation, with prices approximately 10-15% lower then in 2007. Unfortunately we have had to switch from an online pricing setup to a quote-on-request one.

If you would like a quote on one of our fraction collectors please let us know:
-What rack(s) you are interested in
-If you require a valve
If you require event cables for contact closure control and peak measurement
-If you require an RS-232 cable
-What the maximum flow range you anticipate is(so we can send the correct bore of tubing)
